Tis the Season

Can I just say... I love Christmas time. Really it is after Thanksgiving it all starts. Most things Christmas get you in a good mood, the music, movies, treats, everyone saying (well a lot of people), "Merry Christmas", the giving spirit; the list goes on.We are enjoying the Christmas season!

Lately, I have been wanting to watch Christmas movies and now that I have kids it is an excuse to watch the kid ones like, Muppet Christmas Carol. I love that one, ha.
Updates:
For Thanksgiving we spent it with the Johnson's in Las Vegas. It was a ton a fun and nice weather. Swimming and playing outside aren't typically Thanksgiving traditions. We shopped, played games, watched kids, visited and ate good food. Can't complain:) Rushtyn has already unwrapped a couple presents and loves doing it. He loves santa, everytime he sees a picture or decoration of him he says, "Ho ho". His first encounter was at Bass Pro Shops over Thanksgiving. When he was done sitting on his lap he turned, waved, and said, "bu bye". His newest thing is telling us , "one moe" and holding up a number one with his finger, after Brace tosses him in the air. Before he would cry when Brace was done playing with him, so he taught Rush to just say " one more", instead of crying. He now will do it with anything fun he is doing that he doesn't want to stop. It worked but, Rush's "one more" isn't one:)
Lately he has been a lot of fun and a lot of work:) The hitting stage has started and he has tested the waters with his baby sister, which is NOT fun. I feel like I turn into monster Mom when he hurts her, ha. Luckily he is growing out of it! He has started to touch her soft and say, "Nighh" (nice), so I think he is catching on. Rush still loves her despite testing reactions.
Rylee is getting big fast. At her two month Dr. visit she was 84% in height and 62% in weight, so she is a healthy baby. I have to say though, she has been a totally different baby than Rush. Crying is an everyday thing, and typically she just wants to be held, all the time. Thankfully, she is adorable and has stolen our hearts with her new smiles and giggles.
Also, we had her blessing the first Sunday of December. It was wonderful having friends and family support her/us. Brace did a great job and Ry looked beautiful. We are so thankful for family and good friends.

I am slowly catching up on life. I seriously feel that I am in a fog and life keeps going but I am in baby world. I swear just the other day I was pregnant chasing Rushtyn around and now I have a 6wk old newborn and an 18 month old. Time is going by too fast, I feel like, try as I might I can't catch up. Ha. Two kids has been an adjustment and two kids close in age is an additional adjustment. Needless to say I wake up every morning happy to be a Mom to two kids. They bring such joy and love, along with spit-up, diapers, naps, and a few tantrums. You gotta love it!!
I don't know where October went and November...what the? I guess since Oct. 6 I have kind of been out of the loop. Halloween was fun this year. Rush actually could go trick-or-treating and enjoyed it. Brace and I laughed a lot watching him run around in his costumes. The Dumbo ears were flapping in the wind when he was running down the side walk. Haha. He was amazed that people were giving him candy. He wanted to eat it as soon as they gave it to him:) Rylee of course only got to pass out the candy this year:)

Since Rush recently hit a milestone age I thought I would write a little about him. Lately he has been making us laugh. He is now 18 months so, he is officially in nursery and growing up so fast. I am loving his age right now b/c he can understand us. Speaking of nursery he loves it and he is the youngest in there so, the older kids adore him. It was funny he climbed into the baby cradle they have for toys and pulled up a blankie. The 3 yr old girls come over a pat his cheeks saying, "oh cute baby" and playing with him. Rush is already winning the girls over, haha. He says "essus" now and knows to fold his arms during prayer (thanks nursery). He is my little helper. I say, "will you take this diaper to the garbage", he then nods his head and races to the garbage. He wants to play with Rylee to the point he brings her his cars to play with. The other day he wanted her to go down the slide so, I pretended to have her go down. He laughed and thought it was great so, we spent the next 5 min doing it. Also, if Rylee touches him by stretching or something he laughs and pretends she is ticking him:) He knows to get something including candy and pepsi all he has to do is say, "ease". We wanted him to say please and thank you so bad we used "bad" treats. Ha. Great parenting I know. Lastly, the other day Brace was working and I was putting kids to bed solo. The night quickly turned choatic, Rylee was bawling Rush was running from me thinking it was time to play chase w/o a diaper etc. I started to stress and get flustered and Rush comes up to me and started patting his back and I realized he was mimicing what I was doing to Rylee. It put a smile on my face and lightened the mood. We just love him to pieces.

Another milestone was our 6 year anniversary Nov. 4. Crazy how much has changed in 6 years. We were able to go on a hot date Friday night, unfortunately no romantic getaway this year. Kind of hard with a newborn. It was so nice to get out and have a break from our little ones and spend time just us!

~ Our Baby Girl ~

-Rylee Dawn Robinson-

We are so excited to finally have our sweet girl here! She was born Thursday Oct.6 at 9:56 am. Everything went so smooth and I couldn't have asked for a better delivery. She weighed 8 lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long. The whole experience of having a new life come into the world was so special. I can honestly say I enjoyed it. Thank goodness for epidurals:)
I can't believe she is already 11 days old. Time goes by fast. Brace and I feel so blessed to have her apart of our family. The joy a baby brings is undescribable. It was so nice of all our family and friends who came to visit and meet the new addition. We are thankful for all the love and support.
When we came home my little sis had pink ballons and a sign up welcoming us. She was so sweet to make the trip with Braxton. The pink coconut cupcakes were the best!
Now being home we are adjusting slowly. I am not going to lie having two kids are hard, but I love every minute of it. Who cares if I don't put make up on all day, Ha. Her big brother Rushtyn gives her kisses daily and wants to hold her constantly. He will climb up on the couch and put his arms out, indicating he is ready. Sometimes he doesn't want to give her up.
Rylee is a happy healthy baby. We just love her and count our blessings!!

End of Summer

On labor day weekend we went up North to do some baby shopping and visit family. We stayed at Jared and Shyann's. It was fun to see their cute family and visit. Unfortunately Jared was on call so, we couldn't do too much with them. Rush loves playing with his cousins. Of course he couldn't get enough of all the fun toys at their house. Saturday we went up to SLC to see Nell and Marc's place. They only live a mile from the Zoo so, of course we had to go. It was a lot of fun and Rush enjoyed seeing the animals. Thanks guys for letting us use your guest pass:) Finally on Sunday we went up to Strawberry Resevior to see my Grandparents and have a dutch oven meal with the family. The weather all weekend was nice and warm!

The last weekend in August we went to another family reunion. This time it was the Johnson side (my Gpa side). We rarely ever see them so it was fun to see/meet some extended family. Here a few pics...

Robinson Reunion aka Bow Hunt

I am trying to get caught up with blogging...as usual. The 3rd weekend of August we went to the annual Robinson Reunion on Monroe Mtn. It was nice to see family and spend time in the mountains. I was a little worried being 32 wks pregnant and having Rush running around camp but, it turned out great. We went on a family 4 wheel ride, spent time at the camp fire visiting, and of course got our fair share of smores. Its always a good time camping with the fam:) Here are a few pictures.

I haven't posted all summer! Finally now that we are approaching the end of August I posting! I must admit Summer is my very favorite season mostly b/c it usually means fun in the outdoors, which we love.
We were fortunate enough to have a lot of fun with family and friends. Below are pictures of our adventures.
Most recently we went to Lake Powell, which is always a great time. Despite not being able to do the usual at the lake it still was a blast. We went on a long cruise up to the San Juan Arm which, is the furthest up the lake we had been. The weather couldn't have been better and of course the water was the best (bc I was pregnant and couldn't ski/wakeboard haha) Rushtyn loved playing at the beach and swimming. Although, by the end of the trip he was sick of his life vest:) The end of July we went to Torrey to visit my Grandma and Grandpa's. It had been quite awhile so, it was nice to go. While there we went fishing on the Boulder Mtns and four-wheeling. I love that area and every time we go I think, "we need to come more often". In July we celebrated the 4th at Wolf Creek and had a lot of fun swimming, playing tennis, horse shoes, volleyball and just vegging. For the 24th we went to Richfield to spend some time with Brace's family. We were able to visit with family we hadn't seen in a while (Hansen side). In June Rush went on his first real hike and to Sand Hollow with Jared's family (I couldn't upload the pics from that, broken camera).
And inbetween our adventures we spent time playing at the baseball field, parks, and swimming. Needless to say we have had an enjoyable summer thus far. With Brace's busy summer school schedule we still managed to have fun!!
He was so almost too independent for comfort:) Walking in the water and playing in the sand we were his favs.

Christmas Day 2010

4 days old...

Rushtyn turned ONE May 12! Yeah I know I am a little behind but, hey better late then never:) I can't believe our little guy is one (well actually 13 months now, ha). I look back on his little life and I can't believe all the adventures he has experience! He has been such a trooper and so fun to take along. We can't get enough of his giggles and fun personality.

A little about Rush: He loves balloons, balls, rocks, dirt and anything he can get into. He calls anything round a "bah" (ball). I told Brace, "well you achieved him liking sports at an early age", haha. He also says "mom" and "dah". He gives kisses, and hi-fives. His newest thing is pointing to parts of the face... if we say where are your eyes he pokes us right in the eye:) He doesn't quite get "his" but, understands the concepts ha. His favorite snacks are: bananas, yogurt, veggie straws, and pretzels. He enjoys being around people and loves to play "chase". Rush also enjoys swimming, reading stories, music and playing OUTSIDE. Once outdoors he is in heaven. He is so ticklish and loves to get into anything (mostly things we don't want him to). Rush is animated with his facial expressions and mimics funny noises.

He took his first steps April 23 and started walking well the week after his birthday. As much as we anticipated him walking it opened up a whole new world of keeping an eye on him:) He now is starting to trot/run. Rush has 8 teeth and one molar coming in. When he was born he was at the top of the charts in height and weight, now he is 57% in weight, and 62 % in height. He still has his cute chubby cheeks and a sweet dimpley grin. We love our Rush and can't wait for many more brithdays!!

Let me justy say...the Robinson family had a huge surprise back in February!!
Yes... we are expecting a baby girl!!! Yeah I know I still have a baby (Rush just turned one May 12!!). Despite the surprise and anxiety at first we are so so excited. At first I have to admit I was a little bummed that I had to exchange the St. George marathon in October for giving birth to baby #2. That kind of sounds a little selfish now, but back in February I was getting pumped for an "active" summer!. Now at the lake I will be the designated flagger. Lol. Anyway... we feel blessed to have a sweet baby girl on the way. The due date is October 14 however, she is measuring 1 wk and a couple days bigger so, Oct 7 might be a closer date. I better start shopping for pink!! :)

Spring has Sprung

Once again I have fallen behind in the blog world. Instead of just updating current I have to start where I left off (back in March)! Here are just a few pics from March and early April.

During March Rush continued being very busy and lots of fun. Brace turned the big 3-0! We also went on a few picnics, hikes and a little adventure to Oro Valley/Tombstone AZ. I took another trip to Cedar City while Brace was working out of town I thought, "hey I don't want to chill solo in AZ, we are headed to UT!" Luckily Kiley drove with us to help with Rush (lifesaver). It was a lot of fun to see fam and friends as normal. Brace flew to UT to help me sell the boat (Jared and my Dad will have to let us tag along:) and to drive home with us. So, this pic cracks me up b/c he never would wear his sunglasses and all the sundden wanted them on. Ha they stayed on the whole walk.

February Fun

February was fun filled. We started the month off by heading to Utah for Braxton's baby blessing/visitng family. We were able to stay in Circleville for the first couple nights then to Cedar. Brace had to go back to work on Monday however, Rush and I stayed and played the rest of the week and flew home. We were able to go to the Zoo for the first time. My friend Christine has an annual pass that gets one guest for free, so we came along. It was a perfect day. I turned 26!! Closer to 30 now, ugh! I convinced my friend Kim to run in a retro run with me. We had more fun dressing up. Rush is a lot of fun and has a strong will:) Ha. Anyway, that is pretty much our February. Here are a few pics.

I am a little behind on pictures...I would just skip to recent photos but, this is as close to a scrapbook as I have:) January was such nice weather! We took full advantage of it by going on walks and visits to the park. Here are a few pics...

Christmas Vacation

Our Christmas vacation started out in Cedar City with the Johnson's. We left Mesa the night before Christmas eve. It was so nice pulling up to my parents house all warm with Christmas spirit. We had been counting down the days to see family. We got to be santa for the first time, which was fun. Rush liked the wrapping paper more than the presents this year:) We got to see friends and family while we were in UT for 9 days! Brace and I also got to go a movie just us, which was nice since we hadn't been alone in a while. The week after Christmas we went over to Circleville and spent time with the Robinson's for New Years. Jared and Shyann brought their snowmobiles down to play. We were able to take a ride the two of us like old times. Everything was relaxing and perfect, just what we needed. Here are several pics.

The month of December went by so fast! We recently got back from Utah for Christmas but, before I could post Christmas pics. I had to catch up on early Dec. so here are a few.

He was already interested in the first present under the christmas tree:) We tried to do our own family christmas card pics ... we went to this park and realized we needed someone to take our pic. I had this lady help us out. lol. Yeah it was comical. A few days later I got my friend to come help me out (thanks Ash). Maybe next year I will plan:)

Luckily Rush slept most of the time. It was insane, in the background they had cheerful Christmas music playing. lol. Tis the season...right.

Halloween, Anniversary & Others

I have to say Halloween is a lot more fun when you have a cute baby to dress up:) Rush is so fun. Here a few pics from this fall. I am trying to catch up before I post thanksgiving pics and others. Since out last post a lot has happened. We had our 5 yr anniversary, yay, we are so thankful to be where we are. We actually moved into our new place on our anniversary. Mesa, Arizona is our new home. We have lived in Cedar our whole marriage (not including this summer, temporary move) and it was bitter sweet to officially move. We miss family a ton but, love the weather and are very anxious to start our new journey here. Rush is growing like a weed and we are happy :) Here a few photos from the past 5 years to celebrate....

Lake Powell~

We went to Lake Powell over labor day weekend. This trip was greatly anticipated after a long summer on the East coast. We missed going to the lake as much as we usually do. Rush was soo good which, was great considering he is going to have to love the lake as much as we do:) The weather was perfect except a little wind on Sunday. It was a lot of fun being with family again and having a new addition with us; our baby Rush. Here are some pictures from the trip.

~We're Back!~

We finally made it back from Towson, Maryland where we have spent the summer, well Brace is currently a couple hours away from Cedar right now as I am typing this:) Rush and I flew home last Tuesday, thankfully! We never would have made the 35 hour drive cross country. The 5 hour direct flight was much better. Brace's parents came to pick us up at the airport and when I saw them at the baggage claim I felt like we were just returning from a mini mission. LOl. I was so excited to see family.

All-in-all the experience was great and I enjoyed spending the summer on the east coast. We were able to see and experience many new things. It was hard to be away from family especially with Rush growing so fast but, it was nice to be away for bit to rely only on each other. Another thing that was hard was missing my family reunion, Lake Powell and of course the opening weekend of the bow hunt (yeah Brace was so bummed).
So, now we are going to try and squeeze a few of our summer loves in before fall comes full force...We are glad to be back;)

Here a few picutres from July. They are not in order:) Rush has been so much fun lately. We love that he smiles all the time now. I am still trying to catch up on photos from this summer...its kind of fun to look at pictures from a month ago and see how much he changes.

Rush and I are little buddies during the day while Brace is working...we go to the pool and the "terrace".

On the 4th of July we went to Inner Harbor Baltimore and ate dinner at Dicks. It was a good time and afterward we watched a great firework display over the harbor.

As you can see Rush loved his 4th of July picnic...haha. During the day we went to a park and had a little picnic which backfired a little b/c I was paraniod about the bugs (ticks!) Made for a new memory:)

What a big healthy baby:) haha we love him to pieces. The end of July I checked his percentiles and his height is the 95% and weight 80%. Its good to know he isn't skipping any meals. lol

I am trying to catch up and don't know where to begin, so much has been going on since the middle of May. I decided I would start back in June b/c I try to use my blog as a scrap book:) We are in Towson, Maryland for the summer, which is right outside of Baltimore. After Rush was born Brace had to fly back for work 8 days later and I flew 2 1/2 weeks later with my Mom. Rush handled the airport and the flight like a champ, much better than me! I felt so vulnerable with a new baby and barley healing myself...but luckily my Mom was right there to help me! Looking back I don't think I could have done it w/o her:)
Anyway... we finally made it out here. She stayed for a week which was wonderful to have someone to hang out with 24 7 while Brace worked. It was sad to see her go but, she was missed back home:)
Brace and I have had a lot of fun spending time together (when we can) with baby Rush. He is such sweet baby, even when he crys;) We have been visiting several historical sights (Gettysburg, Washington DC, Annapolis, MD, Bird-in-the-hand Amish country, Inner Harbor Baltimore etc.) and we hope to see more while we are out here.

Us at a Gettysburg battlefield...This was our favorite adventure so far. It was so relaxing to get in the country and very fascinating. The musuem was very well done and there is a traveling tour that you do in your car that was awesome. That evening we got a bucket of KFC and had a little picnic when the sun was going down. It was a fun trip!

Doesn't quite fit in his suit for his first pool visit:) Luckily he fits into it now! Its sad how fast he grows!

Amish country....I got a couple of other pictures but, couldn't upload them! Anyway this are was called Bird-in-the-Hand??huh weird name. There was another nearby town called Innercourse! haha, I thought the Amish were conservative:) My mom and I stopped to buy some strawberry jam and some peas from these cute little amish boys. We wanted to get a picture with them but, when we asked the Mom she said no, which I understand. Anyway, that is a little about our Amish trip.

Rush on his first airplane ride! My boppy pillow came in handy...he slept comfortable and it was nice for feeding on the plane too, plus it gave me some rest from holding him the whole time.

I was supposed to be induced on Thursday @ 1:00 am however, Tuesday morning Dr. Gatherum called me and said hey is there anyway you could come in tonight at 12:00am(Tuesday night)!! There apparently was a scheduling error with Labor and Delivery and they couldn't do it until the following week if we couldn't come in that night...Um slight problem...Brace's flight home wasn't schedule until Wed. morning at 5:00am. I told Brace and he quickly scheduled a flight for that afternoon...luckily:) So, I called the Dr. back and said that would be fine...he wanted me to come in that morning to get checked on last time. I was barely barely even starting to dialate so, I started to stress about the inductions etc. but, luckily I had a huge list of things to do in 10 hours! The rest of the day I was cleaning, running errands, hitting up last min. walmart etc:)
That night I was sitting there folding the last of the laundry and I started to feel like I was peeing my pants... I thought uh oh... could that have been my water?? Yep it was.... I started to freak a little because Brace still hadn't landed in Las Vegas yet, and then my Dad still had to drive him from Vegas. In the mix of emotion, excitement and a little fear I felt so totally blessed. It was a testimony that prayers are answered... if the Dr. wouldn't have called me that morning we would have never changed the flight and Brace would have missed the birth!! Needless to say I had cold chills and was emotional when I reflect back.
My Mom came over and helped me gather everything and we went to the hospital at 12:30 am because L.D. said to wait until then unless I started to have strong contractions... I checked into the hospital got my IV set, filled out paper work and by then Brace showed up!! I was soo thankful to have him finally there:) A huge thanks for Nell, Marc and my Dad for helping get Brace there!!

I have decided I needed to do another udate on our blog while I have a little bit of time. The pictures aren't in order. I can't believe I only have one month left!! May 13th is the day Dr. Gatherum is inducing me...unless I go sooner. I have loved being pregnant these last couple of months. Feeling him kick every day is my favorite. He is soo active! I think it might be a sign of what he has in store for us:) Brace and I talk about how much we already love our baby; it's amazing!! We can't wait to meet him:) I hope this last month will treat me well (crossing my fingers). I am starting to feel quite big. LOl.
The last month or so I have been busy with Student teaching in the 4th grade. I just finished April 6th. I loved fourth grade...So, I think I could teach lower or upper because I enjoyed both! Brace has been aerating as long as the weather permits and has been selling alarms a little too. And we have been aching for warm weather so, we have done a couple hikes in Zion.
For Brace's birthday he was working down in Phoenix. Luckily I was able to take two days off of student teaching to meet him down there and hang out for several days in the warm weather! I made a baby Dallas Cowboys quilt with the help from my mom for his birthday. Eventhough it technically wasn't just for Brace he absolutely loved it! The trip was much needed and made it nice to leave snowy Cedar for a little while and just lay out at the pool. I was finally able to finish reading Undaunted (great book!), and get a sun tan. On our way back to Cedar we took our time enjoying the scenery, visiting and laughing (love road trips!). I have always wanted to stop at Montezuma's Castle on our way/to Phoenix but, in the past we never had stopped. We either were on a schedule or were with the whole fam. on our way to Spring training etc. So, this time it was just Brace and I with no schedule...so we stopped. We had no idea what this Natl Monument even was but, it has always sounded intriguing. Brace and I were both presently surprised. It was ancient Indian ruins. It made for a fun little detour.
Last weekend I had my first baby shower that my friends Jamie and Linz threw for me. They are so sweet! It made me so excited to fold his cute little clothes and I had to open a package of diapers just to see how cute and little they were (I am sure I will get over diapers soon but, for now I can think they are cute!) We are underway with our prenatal class and I am so glad Brace and I signed up for it. We both need the information. A couple weeks ago in our class we were in the labor and delivery room and it just hit me our little blessing will join our family soon! I started getting all emotional... I looked over at Brace and smiled... he started getting emotional too. We just smiled at each other so we didn't start crying infront of our whole class. Lol. I honestly can say I am sooo thankful for Brace and our little baby! We cant' wait.

Okay... I am finally attempting to update the blog! I can't believe it is practically March! Man I have been slacking with blogging. So much has been going on lately. The end of December I had to quite my full time job with Nichols Development Group where I have worked for almost two years so, I could get my teaching license. In January I started student teaching at East Elementary and have been loving it! I am more than half way through, Wahoo! I am currently teaching in the 4th grade and enjoying it although, I miss my little 2nd graders. The only downside working in the elem. and being prego, is that I have had a consistant cold for about 2 months now and a case of pink eye. haha. Brace has been busy working in St. George quite a bit with lawn aeration and has worked at a couple shows with his cousin selling helicopters. We are planning on doing alarms this summer unless something changes from now until the end of April. Brace and I are getting so excited for our little Boy to come! Brace gets so excited to feel him kick...and I feel like I am just getting bigger and bigger. Lol. Good thing I have have friends and family to remind me that it is all part of pregnancy.

My Birthday... Big 25!

On President's day I had the day off of school and Brace was working so, my Mom and I decided we needed to go enjoy the warm So. Utah weather. Hiking isn't quite as fun when you are bigger. lol

This is my last day with Mrs. Mosdell's 2nd grade class... they were a lot of fun.
One weekend in January Brace and I decided we needed a mini road trip and went to Zion. Unfortunately it rained and was way cold the whole time. It still was nice.

New Year's Eve...

Serious game of bingo on New Year's Eve... My Mom every year buys a bunch of prizes and we play bingo. It gets pretty competitive. haha

On Wed. Brace and I found out the gender of our new little addition that we are thrilled about. We thought for sure the gender was going to be girl! To our pleasant surprise it is, "100 % boy"! After that Brace was beaming during the rest of the ultrasound, it made me laugh. We now cannot wait until he comes, May 21st!

Ps. We haven't had a working camera for two months however, I will post some old pictures when I get caught up with Christmasing :) and some of the ultra sound.

I know these pictures are half a year old however, I wanted to at least put a handful up from the Fall. I am missing a lot of pictures (Thanksgiving etc.) but, since this is serving as our electronic scrapbook I figured something is better then nothing right.

Touch MD , a medical software company asked me to go to their plastic surgery convention in Seattle for three days. Here a just a few cell phone pictures. Brace had our camera on the rifle hunt with his Dad, Jared and Rett...too bad no one got anything to take pictures of. lol. Maybe next year hun!

This picture is blurry... (cell phone pic). Marci, Me and Ginger worked the Touch MD booth at a plastic surgery convention. It was a great experience and very fascinating. I was able to meet a few popular plastic surgeons and it was funny because I had no idea what a "big deal" they were. Lol. Marci had to clue me in.

The St. George Marathon that almost was.... I trained all spring, summer and fall for this fun event. However, I was so sick with the "flu" aka morning sickness I ended up not running. In addition to the morning sickness I was stressing about miscarrying etc. I called my doctor about three times before the race for him to tell me what to do. He said that I would proabably be fine but, I would have to be super careful not to get dehydrated or raise my body temperature to avoid miscarrying or problems with the fetus. (Thus taking it way slow...not what I had in mind). I was back and forth forever (keep in mind no one knew we were prego). So, literally the night before I decided not to run. Brace felt better about me not running and when I told my Doctor I ended up not running he said that was probably best for me. I still went to cheer people on and ended up running the last 2 1/2 mi. with Lacy ( sorry I bailed on ya). It was a bitter sweet to see all that training and the long runs with no final reward. That morning I was so bummed I didn't run it but, Brace pointed out that the next time I run the marathon I will have an extra cheerleader for me on in the crowd....that gave me cold chills and excitement for our baby on the way.

Our first Lake Powell trip was with my family the second weekend in June... the water was little cool and the weather was mild but, it made for a fun trip. It was kind of nice not being crazy hot at Lake Powell. Trips to the lake always make for Good memories:)

What a happy person... I just love her! I am very thankful for my Mom & her strength, she is my hero!

A couple weekends ago I went up with family to State baseball to support my little sister & my Dad who is Cedar High's head coach. Having a great excuse to get out of town while Brace was in Denver working was nice. It was great to kick back enjoy the weather, lots of games and of course a little shopping. We also celebrated my Mom's birthday at the tournament. The whole crowd sang happy birthday to her, which was fun! Its always fun to be at the baseball park- Baseball ended up taking third & Softball did well...not sure the place?

We were husbandless all weekend...Just chilling with the fam. We had a great time cheering with my Grandma. Good Times. We all get real competitive and vocal at the games:) Me & Cubby

In January I decided I needed something to work towards, so when Rach called me up to go swimming to train for the Tri, I was in! I did the Summer Games one a couple years ago and loved it so, I was excited to do another.
The swimming portion of the race was canceled, which was a bitter sweet. I thought, "oh good I don't have to get in that freezing cold water and mess with the transition". At the same time, all those early hours at the pool were a little bit of waste. Luckily I had been training for a 10k a while back and was ok running twice (run, bike, run). It was a lot of fun!

I was so happy to have Brace there cheering me on at each transition and taking pictures! Thanks babe:)

I had a blast and ended up taking 2nd in my division and 9th overall - I was pleasantly suprised! I even got a sweet plaque:)

Just enjoying the run- the weather was perfect once the wind stopped.

The Mash Bash 5k (Rach, Amanda & Me) We decided to do it that morning. My cousin Danny was in charge, so why not come out and support. I ended up getting some sweet gift certificates for taking 2nd in my division-it made it worth it ;) It was so cold and windy, but we did it!

A couple Sundays ago Brace and Markus played a little catch after dinner.

At work I was given some free tickets to the Rick Springfield concert at Tuachan...At first I wasn't even sure of who he was... I googled him and recognized a couple of his songs and thought why not. It will be a good little date night. It

He put on a really good concert and the best was to watch all the screaming Mom's- at one point there was even a bright pink bra thrown on stage. It was too funny- I must say for being real popular in the 80's he still looks pretty good for his age. The only song I really knew was "Jessie's Girl"
He looks a little better from far away... ha ha I feel like I almost got a little too close:)

A couple weekends ago we went over to Circleville and took the horses to Burrville and relaxed.

Last Monday we went fishing with Dan & Cathy up to Yankee Meadow. It was a lot of fun to get out of town and into the mountains. It has been a long winter and we can't wait to spend more time in the Mountains.

Weekend Road Trip in NV

A couple weekends ago, instead of Brace coming home for the weekend we decided it would be fun to go on a little road trip to see some new things! We are always up for adventure:) We wanted to go to Death Valley b/c we had never been there before. Along the way there is this cool old Opera House that still has a functioning motel- (we decided we would never stay there, little creepy but, hey) The area was called Death Valley Junction, that apparently used to be a happenin place back when mining was really big in the area. Now, its practically a ghost town.

After our road trip we went to Vegas and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which was sweet. Especially b/c we got a smoking deal on the room. Our weekend was a lot of fun! Its always nice to get out of town, see new things and be with the one you love.

There is a funny story behind this pic. So, Brace starts walking ahead looking in the windows b/c I was so fascinated with everything (no rock was unturned) - he rounds the corner, jumps and yells! Knowing something surpised him, I come over to see and round the corner. I even jumped after I knew there was something. This place was just a little bit creepy- the mannequins are super old and were covered in dust. At first it looked like a person, it was little creepy!

On this side of the building all the rooms are left untouched-

It was interesting to see how they looked 80 + years ago but, it was a little eerie b/c the rooms were covered in dust and not preserved at all- making it live up to the word "ghost town"

Brace said, "Ang if we broke down, I couldn't stay here, this is too creepy"

We have always wanted to go to Death Valley, the name alone sparks some curiousity. Anyway... It was a fun little road trip and much needed time together.

Furnace Creek is a little Oasis in Death Valley. It was fun, there is a little museum of the early mining days. After furnace creek you can't see a tree for miles.

Death Valley National Park- Chalk it up- A couple years ago, Brace took a Geology class on National Parks, which I helped out with ;) Now, its kind of fun for us to go to as many as we can b/c "we" learned all about them-
I had to get a pick with this old fire engine, Brace was laughing b/c I just climbed right in for the picture.

The miners used these instead of the 20 mule team in 1894 to transport the mined material to Mojave, CA.

This is a tiny ghost town- they used to mine for Borax here. They hired chinese migrant workers to walk out on the flat and scrap the borax (the white stuff) off the soil all day long and then bring it back to this machine to filter it. Some days reaching 130 degrees. FYI Borax is was used to make many household items like cleaning agents. It pays to read those plaques, I would have never known that:) Part of the mining ghost town
Brace & I went by this reservation, where many of the houses were built out of this clay/gravel material- its crazy some can live out there with the extreme temp.

Angels Landing-Zion NP

My Mom, little sis. & I decided at the begining of March we would go on a hike @ Zion National park. We were planning on just doing a mild hike because my Mom was just finishing up radiation so, we were worried when she said, "hey lets do Angel's Landing". We did it and in record time (for us)! My Mom amazes me! The weather was for the most part nice. The trip was a much needed one for all of us to get out and enjoy the fresh air after a long winter! After the hike we stopped and ate lunch at the "Bit & Spur", it was a great day:)

I swear we drove all over Piute County, we probabley came close, it is the smallest county in UT. It was a lot of fun & great scenery. Brace enjoyed showing the Cutlers his "country"

Fun Weekend

We stayed in St. George last weekend for the Breast Cancer run, warm weather & Thriller @ Tuacahn. Friday night my Aunt Cami & Mom made a great dinner @ my parent's time shareand we all just relaxed. Saturday we did the run, layed out @ the pool, shopped and went to Thriller! Mom, Tammy (her best friend), Aunt Cami, Brace & I all went! It was fun to get in the Halloween Spirit, I have to say last year was a little better. It was fun to have Brace come and experience the "arts", he really did like it! I left my camera so I am waiting for pics. from my aunt.
The run turned out better than I thought! Thanks to everyone for participating, it was fun you all:) Most of my family was there except Nelly & Marc b/c his Brother got married that same weekend, we missed them, next year. We are already planning on this being an annual event! A couple of people who participated in support of my Mom are not in the pic but, most are.. sorry. Thanks Linz for editing the photo & helping get people involved.

I had everyone sign a picture frame for my mom after the race, she didn't know & when I gave it to her she was surprised... and loved it:)

This weekend is the Save-a-Sister Breast Cancer run in St. George! All the proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research and support for women in Southern Utah facing this awful sickness! We are running in support of my Mom and anyone else who is fighting Breast Cancer. It should be a lot of fun:) You only have until Friday to sign up ( I know late notice!) so, grab a friend and sign up! There are 3 options: 1 mile walk, 5k & 10k, catering to everyone ($10, $15, $20, & you get a free t-shirt:) I included the link to sign up to your right.

This post is just a little update for the last couple weeks. We have been busy with work and hanging out with friends & family. Here are a few random pics of what we have been up to:

We took a few pics. with our own camera while getting Robinson family pics. It was crazy trying to get all the kids to smile... the poor photographer had her work cut out!

We went to the Circleville Shooting range... Little Rett wanted to come along:)

I brought stuff to make carmel apples for everyone, we had to get in the Fall mood... this is one of my favorite seasonal treats... along with pumkin pie blizzards!
We stopped to get a few pics of the snow/fall leafs on Cedar Mtn.

Last Monday we went to St. George to visist Jared, Shyann & their kids on their mini vaca. We went to Target to grad a couple things and of course when passing by the Halloween section you have to try on mask. Rett & Adri found these Obama and McCain masks! Luckily I had my camera in my purse... It was too funny.

It was so pretty at the look out spot with a little yellow, green, red, orange & even white!

Two weeks ago my cute Mom was explaining how difficult it was to see her hair coming out. So last Sunday we helped her cut it short so it was less painful. Since it was coming out anyway she wanted to have fun with it and we tried some crazy dos. I love her so much and she looks beautiful with or w/o hair:) I am posting this pic to update all of you on how she is... her smile says it all!! Although Breast Cancer is a difficult trial she is positive and counts her blessings!!

~So You Think You Can Dance~Tour!!

I am a huge fan of So You Think You Can Dance...love it. Those of you who are fans would appreciate all the great live dances. My favorite was "Bleeding Love" and "The Garden". This Summer we decided it was time to go to the tour! Shyann my sis-in-law got tickets for us to go! I just loved all the dancers this season and 3 out of the top 10 were from UT! I got my hopes up a littel b/c I wanted to meet them! It was kind of tricky to work around my work schedule because it was on a Tuesday night but, I figured it out and made a fun little girls night and next day out of it! Tuesday night after the show I stayed in Payson with Jared & Shyanne and the next day we got our toe nails painted and shopped. It was great!!!

Weekend In Vegas

We all wanted to get out of town for the weekend and celebrate Lex's birthday. We stayed at my parent's time share which was nice and shopped a ton. It was nice to relax, laugh and just have good time. Brace had a good time with Clayt while Lex and I were in our element shopping, Thanks guys for a fun weekend!

My Mom really wanted to have family pictures before she lost her hair from chemo... So, Janelle's sister in-law Mellisa came up from St. George on Sunday to take them for us. Thanks Melissa for coming up on a Sunday! We took our pictures up on Cedar Mountain on the way to our property...Sunday was the only day everyone's schedules worked out and we had to get them done this week because she is having her first treatment Friday. They turned out great and we had fun... Brace was a little bummed his hair was long... he had just got back from a horse pack camping trip and thought he could get his hair cut this week for pictures, didn't quite work out:)

Here are two pics. Kristie took of my monumental hair change! I have been wanting to try something different forever and I always chicken out....so this time I promised Krisitie I would pull through:) Here are the before and after photos from my phone, sorry they are not great pics! I am now Brunette!! I really like it! When I told Brace I was going dark he was a little skeptical but, he really likes it too!

~Lake Powell~ Labor Day

Labor day weekend is one of my favorite times to go to Lake Powell, the water is warm and the outside temp. is not super hot (especially not this year). Unfortunately at the last minute Brace wasn't able to come because of work... It was weird being there without him! I missed him tons:) We had a great time even though we got rained on and the weather wasn't the best! We had fun wakeboarding, skiing, swimming and crusising the lake--It was nice to spend time with family especially at lake Powell.
My Mom has always been the first to water ski, wakeboard & even cliff jump! This trip was a little different because she recently had surgery and wasn't able to do all of these things... but all the while as cheerful as can be! As some of you may know she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer about a month ago and had to undergo two surgerys since. I know it was hard for her to pass up waterskiing but all she said was, "I can't wait for next year?" She starts chemo. in a week and this Lake Powell trip is what she really wanted to do before starting this difficult journey. Thankfully she is Mrs. Positive and I look up to her in every way! Love ya Mom and thanks Dad for pulling me all over the lake:)

The Bow Hunt aka Robinson's Family Reunion

So it was the annual Robinson family Reunion that had been held every year for over 30 yrs over the opening weekend of the Bow Hunt on Monroe Mountain. It is so fun to see everyone and hang out with family, especially telling stories at the camp fire. Never fails we always laugh at all the crazy stories Uncle Dave tells! Good Times! This is Brace's most favorite time... he said when he was really little he used to cry when they left:) awww, how cute! I was only able to be up there for Saturday and Sunday b/c I had to work. Brace on the other hand had to get up there early to set up our tent trailer last Thursday... 8 days later he decided to come home:) Mission accomplished, he got a deer! To be honest he wasn't happy b/c he is dedicated which allows him to hunt throughout the fall on all the hunts:( Now he can just go help his friends and fam. I might see my husband this fall after all!

Mountain Picnic

Sunday we decided to go for a ride on the mountain after church for a little picnic. It was nice to get out for a minute and relax. I love the mountains this time of year! Brace leading the way... haha we kind of just made our own trail:)

Girls Weekend~Twilight Style

This past weekend we all went down to Las Vegas to join the Breaking Dawn party, hosted by Mikkel & Kassi. I went mostly for a fun girls weekend. I must admit the whole Barnes and Noble thing made me realize I was not even close to a real twilighter!! It was so fun to get pumped with everyone else anyway:) We started it off at Cheesecake Factory before we headed over to Barnes and Noble @ midnight. After Barnes and Noble we all headed to the apartment. It was sweet, when we walked in there was a cute poster (thanks to Chelsea) and decorations for Breaking Dawn. There were also themed treats which were great, thanks guys! I didn't even read that night, we just had a big slumber party and

talked all night (I haven't done that since high school). It was a blast!

In this picture I couldn't stop laughing because the eye holes are far apart and I couldn't see out of the right eye. It felt like I was twisting my head around to see out of the good eye. Candace & I couldn't stop laughing... maybe it b/c it was so late it was funnier then:) All the girls: Sara, Andrea, Mikkel, Holly, Me, Candace, Kassi, Chelsea & Lex

The 24th: Pioneer Day

The 24th my family went up to Kolob Res. for the day. We fished and went four-wheeling; it was great.

Mountain Trip

Last Tuesday we had a little date night with my friend Tiff and her husband Jake. Right after work we took off from our house on four wheelers and were up in the mtns. in no time ( I love being so close) We went to Tiff's Grandpa's property and had tin foil dinners and drove to a sweet look off point! The four wheel ride was a lot of fun - Thanks for the fun night Tiff!!

Cali. Family Trip

We had a family reunion in Oceanside California with my Mom's side of the family. It was so fun and relaxing! Thanks to my Grandpa & Jackie for the amazing rooms- they accomidated all 47 of us! Staying accross from the Pier and the beach was nice and convienent for us to hang out at the beach and then hit up the pool! At night we would go walk on the pier and watch all the crazy fish come in- some of my family members fished and I watched:)

I was the rail police, all the kids would put their hands on the rail where are the blooding fish bait was... where is the Purell:) My family and a few of my cousins all went to the Padres Game.

Summer Days

This past week we have done a couple of activities that makes summer the best!... going to the lake to wakeboard and going to the Mountains. We went up to my families property on Cedar Mountain on Wed. after work, Jason brought a date and the four of us went fourwheeling ( little dusty but a blast). It was so nice to get up there and smell that fresh Mountain air:)
Then Friday Jared and Shyann came down with their three kids for the weekend! It was fun to have a full house and hang out. Saturday morning we took our boat out for a fun day in the sun!

Tonight Alivia, Lex, Krisitie and I got together to watch the Bachelorette, haha. I made banana bread and Krisite brought creamies... it was a fun little girls night. I can't wait until next week!! Although, I am already worried about how I am going to watch it because we will be in So. Cal., on vacation with family! (Sorry fam. if you aren't fans, I have to watch the finale) Who do you think Deanna is going to choose? ( Jesse or Jason)?

Wedding Day!!!

Janelle and Marc's wedding day was perfect! We were so excited for them as they start their lives together as Mr. & Mrs. McRae:) Last week was stressful for everyone and it was all worth it because everything came together nicely. It was so fun to get to know Janelle's in-laws and to hang out with family and friends. What a wonderful day:) The Reception was a ton of fun, it was all worth those late nights helping my mom and Janelle with decorating and preparing:)
Marc's cousin just had twins and we all adored them- Melissa is holding one.

Janelle went through the temple last Wed. just a few days before her wedding. It was so neat to be there for such a special day:) Megan, Marc's sister also went through the temple the same day which was even better.
